El Toro restaurant in Derby City Centre
This restaurant is currently closed.
El Toro restaurant is situated on London Road opposite the hospital and 5 minutes walk from Derby train station. Paco, the welcoming restaurant owner is keen to re-create as much of the Spanish approach to dining as possible outside Spain and makes you feel like part of the family.
The cosy restaurant is perfect for couples or larger parties looking for a relaxed and happy atmosphere. The tapas is cooked in a caring manner with all produce both fresh and authentic. While dining you will not be hurried, in fact you are encouraged to make the evening an event. Dishes are presented as you finish the previous ones and in that way diners can take their time, enjoy the experience and have time to chat.
If you are looking for an authentic Spanish experience, El Toro is for you.

A tapas restaurant needs to buzz and this one didn't because we were the only people there apart from the owner. The owner was charming and attentive but the tapas dishes were unimaginative, bland and looked tired. It might be worth one more try but only if the restaurant was full and the food freshly made.

This is the second time we have eaten at El Toro, and I would recommend it to everyone! The food is cooked fresh and there is plenty of it, I think I would have to look very hard to find a restaurant that offers such good food at such a reasonable price.
This is the place for Spanish food in DERBY.
