Le Bistrot Pierre Restaurant in Derby City Centre

Le Bistrot Pierre in Derby was the second restaurant of the rapidly expanding Bistro Pierre family, opening in 1996. Located on Friargate, Derby’s social hub, it is in a prime location for those looking to enjoy a quiet meal or somewhere to dine as a prelude to an evening out.

Each restaurant varies slightly in terms of decoration but guests can be assured that they will receive the same high quality of service and high class provincial French food in every branch. Le Bistrot Pierre Derby is nestled within a building that dates back to the 1600’s and it still retains some of its original features including the huge windows, wrought iron staircase and ghostly stories from back in the day. The décor is classic and neutral and finished perfectly, allowing the food to take centre stage.

The menu is packed with French classics that will satisfy everyone. Dishes such as Baked Camembert with sourdough toast and plum chutney, the Epaule D’Agneau, a mouth-wateringly tender shoulder of lamb that is slow-roasted overnight and served with a minted pea puree and Roquefort butter and Le Bistrot Pierre’s Boeuf Bourguignon of thick slices of braised beef with shallots, red wine, mushrooms and bacon are must-try items. Le Bistro Pierre also offer a superb gluten-free menu that goes above and beyond many other restaurants. Rather than removing the sauce from dishes or removing the wafer from your ice cream they have a created a gluten free menu that is unrestrictive. The staff have also been carefully trained to ensure that they minimise gluten-contamination.

In another unique twist, every dish on the menu has a recommended wine underneath it, which allows diners to immerse themselves in the truly French custom of perfectly matching their wines with their dishes.
