In close proximity to many of the main business districts as well as shops, the theatre and the cathedral, it is ideally located for residents and visitors alike, no matter what your plans in Derby are.
The restaurant is spread across two floors, allowing couples and larger parties to enjoy an element of privacy when dining. The restaurant aims to provide fine dining in comfortable and relaxing surroundings, where diners can rest assured that they will be enjoying top class cuisine without the pretentiousness that can come with high-class venues.

As a whole, the menu is incredibly well executed and offers diners a varied choice of dishes including, when seasonally available, pancetta wrapped chicken breast with a walnut and parmesan stuffing; wild mushroom millefeuille with cream and chive sauce; and oven roasted duck with crispy sage crusted potatoes and a sticky honey sauce. We waited 50 mins for starter then the main course came within 2-3 minutes on completion. The food was good but was spoilted by the timing. We were not charged for our wine as compensation.

The service at this establishment was superb, with a polite but informal feel, which instantly made us both feel at ease. The food was fresh, seasonal and (for my choice) very average. My wife enjoyed the 'Summer squash soup' followed by 'Toad-in-the-Hole' which she gave an overall 8/10 for flavour and presentation whilst I selected the 'Stilton cheese dumplings' followed by 'Roast Stuffed Chicken' which was well presented but fairly bland, I'd award a 4/10 overall for my selection.
In summary, I'd recommend this restaurant for fresh but uninspiring food. I may return if the menu exhibited slightly more adventurous options.

Got to be one the best I've been to in Derby, was a little hard to find at first but were made to feel welcome and the food was every bit as enjoyable as the surroundings.
